Belarus will host its first bitcoin and blockchain meetup next week.

The first ever bitcoin- and blockchain-related meetup in Belarus is scheduled for 21 April and aims at providing a platform for bitcoin enthusiasts to get acquainted with each other and exchange ideas on the cryptocurrency industry. There is no participation fee and the confirmed speakers include four well-known bitcoin enthusiasts from the region.

The list of speakers names Valeri Litvin, a Belorussian developer at cyber•Fund and a blockchain expert; Mikhail Chobanian, the founder of the Ukrainian bitcoin agency Kuna and Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine; Alex Fork, Russian bitcoin angel and Future Fintech founder and Vladimir Basko, head of the Belorussian association Infopark and the chairman of Cyber Business Confederation association.

The meetup is organized and sponsored by the investment platform cyber•Fund, co-founded by the Russian bitcoin enthusiast Dima Starodubcev.

Although the Belarussian bitcoin community is not as large as the Russian or the Ukrainian, bitcoin sometimes appears on the society’s agenda. On 14–15 October 2015, the Belorussian capital hosted Bitcoin Conference Minsk held together with Belarus Gaming Congress. The conference was supposed to outline the ways the digital currency bitcoin could be used in developing the Belorussian gambling sector. The conference included papers on the advantages and disadvantages of using bitcoin in the gambling business, bitcoin casino market analysis and forecasts, promotion strategies, affiliate programs and the pitfalls of bitcoin gambling.
