Bitcoin Conference Minsk is scheduled to take place in the capital of Belarus, as a part of the Gambling Congress 14-15 October.
As it is stated in the official press-release, cryptocurrency, though its use has no legal backing in Belarus, “opens great opportunities for the country where gambling business is legalized”. The prohibition of gambling activities in neighbouring countries has put Belarus in favourable position to develop its gambling sector.
The conference is supposed to outline the ways the bitcoin digital currency could be used in this context:
“The development of gambling market and bitcoin are the two main topics of Belarus Gaming Congress. The event will take place in Minsk for the second time. The two sections will be dedicated to gambling business (land base and online), as well as to the prospects of using the cryptocurrency, software solutions for Bitcoin casinos and new technologies in online and offline gambling”.
The program of the conference includes papers on the advantages and disadvantages of using bitcoin in gambling business, bitcoin casino market analysis and forecasts, promotion strategies, affiliate programs and pitfalls of bitcoin gambling.
The upcoming Bitcoin Conference Minsk is not the first event of this kind in the CIS space for the last year, though probably the most specialised one. In September Bitcoin Conference Kiev was held to discuss the perspectives of bitcoin adoption and regulation in Ukraine. Two representatives of the National Bank Ukraine, taking part in the conference, positively assessed the possibility of integrating electronic currency into the country's financial system.
In Russia the panel discussion “Cryptocurrency, financial and technological innovations: prospects for development in Russia”, sponsored by Cryptocurrency Foundation Russia and CoinFox, will take place 9 October as a part of the International Innovation Forum.
