Bitcoin Direct, a bitcoin ATM provider, has developed a digital wallet that is promoted by Mike Tyson.
This wallet was created in collaboration with BitPay, an expert in bitcoin payment, and announced on 4 January by Tyson and Bitcoin Direct, writes PR Newswire in a news release. This is the first celebrity-supported bitcoin wallet in the world.
The wallet is available on iOS under the name of Mike Tyson Bitcoin. This application is fit for both iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded through iTunes. It requires iOS 6.0 or later. The new digital wallet is also available for Android devices.
The design of the application using the image of Tyson’s famous face tattoo is supposed to please the boxer’s fans. Sending and receiving bitcoin with the app is made possible with the help of Glidera – a bitcoin transferring and exchanging platform developed to work with various electronic wallets.
Mike Tyson began his cooperation with the bitcoin world last year. He seems to be the world’s first celebrity to openly support the cryptocurrency. In September 2015 Tyson and Bitcoin Direct announced the launch of the Mike Tyson bitcoin ATM, which would allow customers to instantaneously exchange their bitcoins for fiat currencies and vice versa. The ATMs are currently located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In no way do I profess to be any kind of bitcoin currency guru. It just seems very interesting and I’m intrigued with the possibilities,” writes Tyson on the project’s website.
Mike Tyson is a former boxing heavyweight champion. He gained a lot of publicity due to his talent and extravagant style in and outside of the boxing ring.
Bitcoin Direct LLC is a subsidiary of Connexus Corporation, a company planning to offer a full range of bitcoin transaction solutions for consumers including remittance, gaming and business payment solutions. But now, judging by the website of Connexus, the operation of bitcoin ATMs through Bitcoin Direct is its main field of activity.
