Manhattan tour buses are carrying advertisements with references to Bitcoin.
The reddit user ddmnyc uploaded a photo of a Skyline Sightseeing tour bus carrying an ad for Braintree, a service that helps businesses process credit card and other online payments, including PayPal. Skyline Sightseeing is one of the most popular double-decker tour companies in New York City.
The final line of the advertisement notes that Braintree accepts “Apple Pay, PayPal, Bitcoin, Venmo, cards and more”. Moreover, the background pattern carries currency symbols for the US dollar, British pound sterling, Japanese yen, euro and bitcoin.
Some reddit users are disappointed to see Bitcoin mentioned only third on the list. Others argue that “Bitcoin has moved from not being on any list to number three on that list” and notice “the excellent placement of the B logo”.
This is not the first time that reddit users have discovered this advertisement. On December 7th, 2014, one of them took a photo of the same Braintree poster on a billboard in Austin, Texas. Others say they have seen such billboards in San Francisco, California.
