Blockchain Incredible Party, an international conference devoted to bitcoin and blockchain otherwise known as “BIP001: Winter Edition,” launches on Monday, 11 January, in Lviv, Ukraine.
This is the second BIP001 “party” hosted in Ukraine. The first event took place on 1–2 July 2015 in the city of Odessa. While at that point “BIP” stood for “Bitcoin Improvement Proposal,” now the conference has been rebranded.
The most intensive day of the conference is on Tuesday when all talks will be delivered. The Monday and Wednesday programme includes only the pre-party and an excursion around Lviv.
The schedule includes 15 twenty-minute reports and one Q&A panel on cryptocurrency exchange. The participating speakers are altogether 19 (20, including the organizers from Distributed Lab). Among them are representatives of Bitalo AG, Kuna Bitcoin Agency, Ethereum, Earth Observation Inc, Gurtom Foundation, AdaptiveSky, GateHub, Ambisafe, IOHK, Cubits, PrivatBank, draglet.com, Blockchain, Risk Engine and JSC IIT.
The presentations cover various subjects from the most general (“Why cryptocurrencies matter”) to the most specific (“Usage of P2P and smart contract technologies in PrivatBank”), such as smart contracts, the state of bitcoin, bitcoin in Ukraine, Ukrainian cryptocurrency regulations, decentralized auction and others.
The event is sponsored and organized by Distributed Lab, a research lab that is involved in development of cutting edge industry projects in the field of cryptocurrency. CoinFox is also present at the event.
The Ukrainian bitcoin community is growing. As CoinFox has written before, in 2015 the Ukrainians campaigned on Instagram for bitcoin adoption, Kyiv hosted a bitcoin conference and Bitcoin Foundation Ukraine joined efforts with Innovecs to revitalise the country's financial system.
